Newton-Rider は常に、革新的であるだけでなく、既存のどんなヘルメットよりも安全で信頼できる製品をお届けすることを目標としてまいりました。
この度は、生産に関する重要な進捗をご報告いたします。
ここ数ヶ月、私たちは Newton-Rider ヘルメットのさらなる精度向上に向け、集中的な試験・検証を継続してきました。すでに EN1078 規格に基づく2度のフル試験（平面衝撃、縁石衝撃、極端な温度・湿度環境下での耐性など）を完了しており、基準を 24％〜52％上回る衝撃吸収性能 を確認しています。
これは、Newton-Rider 独自のセミソフト構造が、従来の硬い EPS ヘルメットよりも優れた線形衝撃保護を実現できることを示す大きな成果でした。
しかしながら、こうした強い結果に加えて、ヘルメット内部の特定の部品の中に、量産規模での品質一貫性を確保するため、より高精度な製造が必要と判断された要素がいくつか見つかりました。
これらの部品は、素材の均質性、硬度、衝撃を複数回受けた際の挙動など、非常に厳しい基準を満たす必要があります。
この要件を満たすため、私たちは 欧州連合（EU）内の新たなサプライヤー と契約を締結いたしました。新しいサプライヤーは以下の点で優れています：
高度なポリマー・エラストマー加工技術
厳密な精度管理が求められる部品の製造能力
EUの安全基準に沿った高い品質管理体制
コミュニケーションの迅速化とエンジニアリング反映までのスピード
これらの変更は長期的な安定生産にとって大きな前進ですが、同時に、部品仕様のすり合わせ・金型製作・プリプロダクション試作・品質検証など、追加の工程が必要となります。
現在、以下の作業を進めています：
EU製部品を組み込んだ新しいヘルメット構造の統合
改訂版プリプロダクションサンプルの制作
新部品を使用した EN1078 のフル試験プロトコルによる検証
最終仕様の確定および量産に向けた金型・工程の確立
Newton-Rider のヘルメットは“命を守る製品”です。
そのため、どの工程でも妥協することなく、すべての個体が同等の性能を発揮することを保証する必要があります。
サプライヤー変更と追加検証工程のため、以下のスケジュールを予定しております：
量産開始：2026年・上半期末頃
量産開始後、順次出荷を開始

Subject: Important Production Update for Our Valued Japanese Backers
Dear Backers,
Thank you once again for your continued patience, support, and trust in Newton-Rider. We know you are eagerly waiting for your helmets, and we take this responsibility very seriously. Our commitment has always been to deliver a product that is not only innovative, but genuinely safer and more reliable than anything currently available.
We would like to provide you with an important update on our progress.
Why We Are Adjusting Our Timeline
Over the past months, we have continued refining the Newton-Rider helmet through intensive testing and validation. As shared previously, the helmet has already undergone two full EN 1078 test cycles — including flat impacts, curbstone impacts, extreme temperatures, humidity, and moisture exposure — with results showing 24% to 52% better impact absorption than required thresholds. This confirmed the potential of our semi-soft and flexible construction to deliver better linear protection than traditional rigid EPS helmets.
However, alongside these strong results, we also identified several components inside the helmet that required higher precision and more consistent quality than our current suppliers could guarantee at scale. These specific components — crucial to ensuring uniform performance across every helmet — must meet tight tolerances in material consistency, hardness levels, and mechanical behaviour under repeated impacts.
To meet these requirements, we have now secured new suppliers inside the European Union who can deliver the exact specifications needed for long-term, large-scale production. These suppliers bring:
• Greater consistency in advanced polymer and elastomer production
• Better technical capabilities for tight tolerance parts
• Higher quality control standards aligned with EU safety requirements
• Shorter communication loops and faster engineering iteration
Moving key components to EU-based suppliers is a major step forward for the long-term stability of our production — but it also requires additional time for alignment, tooling, pre-production testing, and verification of each supplier’s output.
What Happens Now
We are currently in the process of:
1. Integrating the new EU-supplied components into the helmet assembly
2. Completing updated pre-production samples
3. Conducting validation tests with the new components under the full EN 1078 protocol
4. Locking the final production configuration and initiating mass-production tooling
These steps ensure that every helmet shipped to our backers performs to the same high standard demonstrated during certification testing. Since this product is designed to protect lives, there can be no compromise on these processes.
Updated Production Timeline
Due to the change in suppliers and the required validation steps, we now anticipate:
• Mass production to begin in late H1 2026
• Deliveries to follow immediately after production begins
We understand that this is later than originally expected, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. The decision was made with full responsibility: sending a helmet that does not meet our exact standard of safety and consistency is simply not acceptable.
